This unit, from Hydrofarm, is simple to use. The compact fluorescent bulbs you see on this page already have a built-in ballast so there is no need for an unsightly external ballast. An 8 foot power cord plugs into any standard 120V household outlet and the fixture incorporates a convenient on/off switch at the back of the reflector. These lamps are ideal for starting seeds, propagation, house plants, African violets, orchids, carnivorous plants, cactus and more!
